Scotch Plains Freecycle Market 2026

Every year, approximately 3.5 million tons of trash end up in New Jersey landfills. Several initiatives and legislation have been passed over the past few years here in the Garden State to help reduce waste in big ways and small. The Scotch Plains Freecycle Market 2026 represents one of the smaller (yet fun) ways to accomplish this goal.

Scotch Plains Freecycle Market 2026

Recycling can be done through more than just separating your trash. Whatever you have lying around the house that you do not use anymore can be brought to the Freecyle Market to be rehomed with another person. Some of the items acceptable to donate include sports equipment, kitchenware (no glass), games, small electronics and appliances, exercise equipment, and toys. Just make sure they are clean and in good working condition.

Once accepted at drop-off, the items get sorted into categories and set out for guests to peruse. No money exchanges hands at the Freecycle Market. This market simply provides the community with the opportunity to help reduce the tonnage of waste to our local landfills.

Volunteer Opportunity

Organizers also need volunteers to help set up and tear down the event. There are also other positions that they could use some help with on the day of the event. If you are interested, please sign up by using this link.

Registration for Freecycle

Organizers require you to register a specific time to drop off your donations. Since time slots are limited, they highly recommend that you register as soon as possible. How? By visiting the Scotch Plains website here. Choose between the 9 am to 9:30 am, 9:30 am to 10 am, or 10 am to 10:30 am sessions on the day of the event. If Mother Nature refuses to cooperate, organizers set a rain date of April 25th.

I am grateful to all who entrusted me with your life-changing real estate moves and to all who referred me to your family and friends!
