Scotch Plains Fall Brush Pickup 2026

The City has an ordinance that does not allow for vegetative waste to be placed in with regular curbside pickup. Scotch Plains picks up brush and limbs from tree clippings. But they do require that you follow certain guidelines. For example, branches must be no longer than six feet long and two inches around. Logs, stumps, and grass are not allowed as part of the fall pickup.

You can start putting your clippings out at the curb as early as 10 days before pick up (starting this Sunday, August 30th).  Make sure you separate your vegetative waste into piles: one for leaves, one for branches, and one for gumballs. The City’s official leaf collection is set to take place in late October.

Tour de Westfield

Tour de Westfield takes place on Sunday, August 30th. Unlike the 2100-mile, three-week trek throughout France, this tour stays right in the downtown Westfield area. It’s also much, much shorter and meant for bicyclists of all ages and abilities to join in on. It also costs nothing to participate. However, you must register ahead of time to partake in the festivities. To do so, simply visit the City of Westfield Recreation Department’s online portal here.

Scotch Plains Broadway & Bubbles

Scotch Plains offers a fun program called Broadway & Bubbles. This program introduces children to live theater and helps encourage them to explore their more artistic sides. And they have bubbles!
