Music fills the air all over Union County this summer. Instead of waiting until the weekend for date night, take your special someone out for a free concert out in the fresh air. Where? How about the Scotch Plains Summer Concert later this month?

Scotch Plains Summer Concert 2025
No one wants to stay indoors during the summer. That’s when we all head outside. What better way to spend a weeknight than with a free concert? Crystal Pepsi & the Zimas perform their version of 90s party rock beginning at 7 pm. No seating will be provided. So make sure you bring a blanket and/or lawn chairs so you can listen in comfort. If Mother Nature decides to rain on this parade, the concert will be postponed to the following Thursday (July 31st).
Sweet Sounds Downtown Westfield
Every Tuesday and Thursday through the end of August, music takes over the downtown Westfield area courtesy of Sweet Sounds Downtown. On Tuesday, guests are treated to two separate musical acts on two separate stages: Quimby Street and Foundation Park. On Thursdays, only the Quimby Street stage features musicians. Quimby’s concerts run from 6 pm to 9 pm while Foundation Park’s concerts run from 7 pm to 9 pm. All concerts come free of charge.
Summer Sounds Downtown Cranford
Not to be outdone, Cranford hosts its own special concert series on Thursday evenings as well: Summer Sounds Downtown. Also free of charge, this concert plays out in the Eastman Clock Plaza from 6 pm to 8 pm. No seating is set up for this concert. So officials highly recommend that you bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the concert in comfort.
