LEGO My Eggo Cranford

Did you make it to the Build Westfield event earlier this month? It was very interesting to see 50 historic and iconic Westfield buildings recreated in LEGOs. To continue the LEGO fun, nearby Cranford hosts a LEGO My Eggo event at Venue 104 (104 N Union Ave) from 9 am to 10:30 am this Sunday, February 17th. For $15, enjoy a waffle breakfast with LEGO Master and teach Corey D Samuels. You’ll need to bring your own LEGOs for that. But for $30, organizers provide you with a special set of LEGOs to use at the event. Get your tickets today.

I am grateful to all who entrusted me with your life-changing real estate moves and to all who referred me to your family and friends!

Build Westfield LEGO Edition

One of the most beloved children’s toys of the last 100 years is LEGOs. Founded in 1932, LEGOs encourage children of all ages to use their imagination to create whatever their heart desires. The Westfield Historic Preservation Commission partnered with Westfield’s Recreation Department to bring history and fun to our community with their Build Westfield LEGO Edition.

  • What: Build Westfield LEGO Edition
  • Where: Westfield High School (500 Dorian Rd)
  • When: Saturday, February 1st, 2025 from 1 pm to 3 pm
  • Admission: $45 per 4-person group for Westfield residents, $50 per 4-person group for non-residents
  • Contact: Westfield Recreation Department (908) 789-4080 or via email

Build Westfield LEGO Edition

Now in its third year, Build Westfield wants children and their parents to remember what iconic Westfield buildings of today and yesteryear looked like. How? By using more than 60,000 LEGO bricks to recreate them in person. Teams choose which school, church, historical home, or municipal building they want to build. Then, each team’s entry goes on display upon completion for everyone to see.

Each team can contain up to four people for the build. It must include at least one adult. No one under six years old can participate. After a team finishes their recreation, they will receive a town map with the location of their actual building so that they can go see the real thing in person.

Registration for LEGO Build

Westfield residents pay $45 per team. Non-residents must pay $50 per team. Organizers limited the total amount of teams to 50 (one team per historical building). So, the earlier you register, the better your chances to participate in this fun event. To register, simply visit the Westfield NJ website here.

I am grateful to all who entrusted me with your life-changing real estate moves and to all who referred me to your family and friends!

Westfield Jigsaw Puzzle Sale 2025

Westfield Jigsaw Puzzlie Sale 2025Family game night is a cherished tradition in many Westfield homes. Whether you play Monopoly, Uno, Yahtzee, or some other game, the time together makes family game night so important. Some families enjoy putting together jigsaw puzzles. If you are one of those families, you might want to attend the Westfield Jigsaw Puzzle Sale 2025 at the Westfield Memorial Library next week.

Westfield Jigsaw Puzzle Sale 2025

The past two sales turned out to be such a raging success that the Friends of the Westfield Memorial Library decided to host another jigsaw puzzle sale this year. Puzzles range from just a few pieces to accommodate younger children all the way up to 3000 pieces for the more seasoned puzzler. All puzzles for sale come donated courtesy of the good men and women of our community. So all money raised from these sales gets invested right back into our community through the great work that the Friends of the Westfield Memorial Library performs.

Accepting Donations

If you have old puzzles that you would like to donate, you may drop them off at the library between 10 am and 4 pm today (January 17th), 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday (January 18th), or 1 pm to 4 pm on Sunday (January 19th). Just make sure each box contains all of the pieces needed to complete the puzzle. Then, tape it together to ensure all of the pieces remain intact when you drop the puzzles off.

Volunteers Needed

The Friends of the Westfield Memorial Library also need help organizing the puzzles and assisting customers during the actual sales dates. If you would like to help, please visit the FWML website here to sign up for a specific date and time. Thank you.

Cranford Souperhero Stroll 2025

Quick reminder. The Cranford Souperhero Stroll takes place this weekend (January 18th & 19th). Visit the downtown area to see superheroes created out of balloons courtesy of the Dream Factory Balloons company. For $10 per ticket, guests also get to sample some delicious soups. Kids are invited to dress up as their favorite superheroes as well (or even make themselves into their own superhero). Proceeds from soup tasting sales benefit Cranford High’s Project Graduation. Grab your tickets today.

I am grateful to all who entrusted me with your life-changing real estate moves and to all who referred me to your family and friends!

Westfield Santa Convoy

Santa’s a very busy elf this time of year. But he agreed to take time out of his schedule to make a trip to our fair town just a few days before Christmas. Where can you see him? At the Westfield Santa Convoy.

Westfield Santa Convoy

Our local fire department, police department, and other officials worked together to bring Santa to our Westfield Streets. On Saturday, December 21st, Santa hits the southside beginning and ending at Mindowaskin Park from 9 am to 12 pm. After a brief break of milk and cookies, he’ll visit the northside of Westfield from 1 pm to 4 pm. Again, he starts and ends his journey at Mindowaskin Park. Click on either the southside or northside links above to see his exact route. Merry Christmas everyone.

Westfield Holiday House Decorating Contest

Don’t forget to go see all of the entries in the Westfield Holiday House Decorating Contest for yourself. Make notes of which ones you like the best. Then go to Westfield’s website to vote for your favorites. The three houses with the most votes get a prize. But you must vote before the end of the day on December 23rd.

Westfield Area Y Men’s Club Christmas Tree Lot

Finally, a quick reminder. If you have not bought your Christmas tree yet, please visit our Westfield Y’s Men’s Christmas Tree Lot. We still have some great trees left. But they won’t last forever. We are open from 5 pm to 9 pm every Monday through Friday and 9 am to 6 pm every Saturday and Sunday through December 22nd (or while supplies last…whichever comes first). I hope to see you there!

I am grateful to all who entrusted me with your life-changing real estate moves and to all who referred me to your family and friends!

Westfield Holiday House Decorating Contest 2024

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with their loved ones. With it taking place so late this year, that leaves less than three weeks from today before we celebrate Christmas. And in this town, that means just one thing. The Westfield Holiday House Decorating Contest 2024.

  • What: Westfield Holiday House Decorating Contest 2024
  • Where: Westfield NJ homes
  • Registration Ends: December 10th
  • Judging Takes Place: December 13th to 23rd
  • Contact: Westfield Recreation Department

Westfield Holiday House Decorating Contest 2024

Registration for this year’s Holiday House Decorating Contest is open now. However, if you wish to participate, you must register by the end of the day on December 10th. Then, send one photo of your decorated home to the Recreation Department via email by end of day on December 11th. Westfield then adds your home’s address to the list of homes entered into the contest and posts the complete list on its Facebook page as well as the City’s official website on December 13th to start the judging period by the public. The homes that receive the top three number of votes win gift cards ranging from $25 to $100.

Contest Rules

You must be a Westfield resident and agree to allow photos of your home to be posted to both the town’s official website and their Facebook page along with your family’s name and address. Additionally, you agree to keep your decorations up throughout the entire duration of judging (December 13th to 23rd). Only one person per household needs to register. When putting up decorations, remember that only the decorations seen from curbside will be judged for the contest. No professional installations will be considered. Only homes decorated by their occupants can be entered into the contest.

Westfield Christmas Tree Lot Open for Business

The Westfield Area Y Men’s Club Christmas tree lot opened for business last weekend. We currently stock hundreds of various sizes of balsams and firs. Our lot stays open from 5 pm to 9 pm every Monday through Friday and 9 am to 6 pm every Saturday and Sunday through December 22nd (or while supplies last). Keep this in mind, though. We tend to sell out very quickly. So, if you want to bring one of these beauties home, you need to get here sooner rather than later. And if you see me, make sure you say “hi”. I’ll be helping everyone load up their cars most days. I’d love to hear from you.

I am grateful to all who entrusted me with your life-changing real estate moves and to all who referred me to your family and friends!

Westfield Aqua Turkey Trot 2024

Come to the Westfield Area Y’s Aqua Turkey Trot the day before Thanksgiving. Instead of jogging on land, the Aqua Turkey Trot takes place in the Y’s Wallace Pool at their main facility in Westfield. Dive on in and go for a “jog”. There will also be fun trivia games to keep you entertained. While admission is free, organizers still request that you register ahead of time. Why? FestiFall Westfield 2024

As the weather turns crisper, it’s time to celebrate Autumn. How do we do that here? With FestiFall Westfield 2024, of course.

  • What: FestiFall Westfield 2024
  • Where: Downtown Westfield (Central Ave)
  • When: Sunday, September 22nd from 10 am to 5 pm
  • Admission: FREE

FestiFall Westfield 2024

Organizers shut down Central Ave between North Ave and Broad St for this year’s festivities. The fun also spills over to Quimby St with live music performed by Monkey Wrench, Flannel & Lace, and Big Horse. More than 100 vendors set up their wares along the streets as well.

Be on the lookout while walking around the festival. DinosaursARISE brings these ancient creatures to life with their fully animatronic beasts roaming the city streets. And when you get hungry, 15 food trucks provide a wide variety of cuisine to choose from. Plus, a special Kids Zone provides the wee ones with great entertainment geared towards their age group. But this is just a small snippet of what to expect. You’ll have to come to FestiFall to find out what else is happening in Downtown Westfield.

Check the weather report before you go. This festival takes place come rain or shine. Be prepared for whatever Mother Nature has in store this Sunday evening and you’ll have a great time.

Bike MS NYC 2024

Yes. My wife and I will both be riding in the Bike MS NYC 2024 ride this year. A few friends of ours join us again to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as Team Guys & Dolls. We all would greatly appreciate it if you could help us reach our fundraising goal of $5000 by the time the ride takes place (October 20th). To do so, please visit our Team Guys & Dolls page and donate whatever you can. Every bit helps. And if you’d like to join us on our ride, please contact me directly to talk about it. We’d love to have you as part of our team. Thank you.

Westfield Sweet Sounds Encore 2024

Sweet Sounds Downtown 2024 played its last concert of the season on August 27th. Or did it? Well, this year’s event was such a roaring success, that organizers decided to bring it back this month for the Westfield Sweet Sounds Encore.

  • What: Westfield Sweet Sounds Encore 2024
  • Where: 125 Quimby Street, downtown
  • When: Every Friday in September from 6 pm to 9 pm
  • Admission: FREE

Westfield Sweet Sounds Encore 2024

For the encore, only one band performs on one stage each week instead of the three different bands on three different stages around the Downtown Westfield area. Joe Taino kicks the encore off tonight (September 6th). Next Friday, C3 Soul Revue performs. Then, the following week, guests get to enjoy the musical stylings of the Kolor Blind Band. Finally, Soul Seduction finishes off this encore with a bang.

As always, make sure you bring a blanket and/or lawn chair to enjoy the concert in comfort. No seating will be made available by organizers. And these concerts come completely free of charge. Come back each Friday and bring the family for some soul-stirring, foot-tapping musical fun on Quimby Street every Friday this month.

Tour de Westfield 2024

Just a reminder. This year’s Tour de Westfield takes place on Sunday. Unfortunately, if you did not sign up before September 4th, you cannot participate. However, that does not mean that you cannot be a spectator. Come out to the North Side Train Station on Sunday, September 8th between 10 am and noon to cheer on the families and organizations riding along our Westfield streets.
