3 Tips to Succeed in a Seller’s Market in Westfield

So, you’ve heard the buzz.  It’s a seller’s market in Westfield.  Properties are coming on the market well priced, well prepared, and ready to sell.  As a buyer, you need to be ready to act and act quickly to make your purchase as stress free, efficient, and cost-effective as possible. 

1. See the property early.  Don’t wait for an open house to see a new property.  When your agent notifies you of something right for you, go early.  If you want to see the home again, go again before the open house if possible.  And be prepared to make your offer by the end of the weekend.

2. Bid early.  Do your homework and know your financials.  Be ready on your numbers before you start looking.  Have your mortgage credentials/prequalificaton up to date. That way, when the right property comes along, you can bid early.  If you are the first offer received, you may have the edge.

3. Bid the asking price.  If the property is priced fairly and attractive, don’t try to cut corners.  If you bid the asking price, you may end up avoiding an even more expensive bidding war with a subsequent buyer, or if a bidding war is inevitable, at least you will be invited to compete.

An informed, prepared buyer is a happy, confident buyer even in a seller’s market.
